the AI scrooge effect

there was this article on something called the “scrooge effect” where if you tell an LLM to do something it also increases the odds of it doing the opposite, that article concluded that it’s not because of sentence but because the model is trained on literature and this is a common trope, if a story starts with “Billy hates vegetables”, then you know by the end he’s gonna end up  liking vegetables, or more famously in a Christmas carol scrooge is described first as hating Christmas and ends up being the #1 Christmas fan

alright switched back to Firefox on mobile; Vivaldi mobile doesn’t have extensions so you have to rely on the internal ad blocker instead of ublock, it also lacks a Firefox feature where it can replace google assistant as the app that opens when you hold the home button

Vivaldi sync sucks

In my unending crusade against AI (for which I have also switched from VSCodium back to Emacs and from duckduckgo to startpage I tried Vivaldi thanks to their anti ai stance, I spent a while booted into my NixOS partition on Vivaldi customizing all the features: the mail client, calendar, start page, RSS feed, web panels; then I rebooted into my Fedora partition to install Vivaldi there and log into my account and I realized that literally none of that is synced, seriously what is the point of sync if it doesn’t sync all my customization?
